Dog Parks

SPCA recommends that a dog’s suitability is assessed on a case-by-case basis, based on consideration of age, temperament, life history, and the safety and suitability of the location.

SPCA encourages dog owners to actively monitor their dog’s behaviour to ensure interactions are positive for dogs. Not all dogs find group interactions enjoyable and other activities may be more appropriate and enjoyable.

It is important to comply with the park’s rules and be respectful of basic etiquette to ensure other dogs and people using the dog park have an enjoyable experience. People should ensure their dog is actively supervised at all times, intervene to prevent their dog causing disruption or nuisance and only bring their dog if they are well socialised and have reliable recall.
