Foster & Volunteer Office Support
Auckland (Mangere) Centre
Do you want to make a difference in the lives of animals and support our busy foster and volunteer team? We are looking for friendly and reliable volunteers to assist in our Foster & Volunteer Office.
We operate between 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM and can be flexible with the day or time, but we ask for a commitment of at least four hours per week.
As a Foster & Volunteer Office Support Volunteer, duties may include:
- Cleaning and organising animal equipment returned from foster
- Stocking and tidying our storeroom
- Assisting with foster animal handovers
- Meeting and greeting foster parents and other volunteers
- Administrative tasks such as preparing paperwork and scanning documents
- Answering and redirecting phone calls
- Spending time with animals in care who need company
We’re looking for volunteers who are:
- At least 16 years old
- Able to commit to a weekly, four-hour shift for at least six months
- Proficient in written and spoken English
- Comfortable with phone etiquette and willing to assist with calls if needed
- Organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a team environmen

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for SPCA. Volunteers are a vital part of the SPCA team and we simply couldn't do the work we do without the large number of volunteers who donate their time to help the animals.
Please fill out the form below to start your volunteer journey with us. If you need assistance, please call the team at your local SPCA Centre or op shop.
Please note: Our centres and op shops have minimum age requirements to volunteer. For op shops the minimum age is 15 years. For volunteering at a centre, please enquire with them directly if you are under 16 years of age. You may need to provide an up-to-date Ministry of Justice check prior to starting. Please be aware that during the application process we will ask about any medical conditions (physical or mental) we need to be aware of to ensure your safety while volunteering for us.
