Introducing the stars of SPCA’s 2025 calendars!
SPCA’s calendar competition, Pets of the Year, came to a close on Sunday 28 July, with one cat and one dog profile raising the most money to take home the coveted cover star spot. With the winners crowned, the calendars are available for pre-sale now.
The popular competition to find the cover stars of SPCA’s calendars, Pets of the Year, has come to a close for another year. The closing hours of the competition saw a race to the finish line, with top fundraising profiles jostling for the top spots.
By closing, the competition has raised an incredible $116,648 for New Zealand’s animals in need. 1,600 New Zealanders created a profile for their pet in a bid for the top spot, with many hundreds more donating to their favourite.
Every dollar raised from both the competition and the sales of the calendars goes directly towards helping the abused, neglected and abandoned animals in our care across the country.
The top spot for the dog calendar this year was taken by Rolex, a stunning 9-month-old Doberman whose profile raised $4,610 in donations. The cat calendar winner was third-timing reigning champion Deli Department, a ginger shorthair whose profile raised an impressive $5,446.
With work to produce the calendars already underway, pre-orders of the 2025 calendars are available now. Bringing together over 130 images of beloved pets from our community of fundraisers, these will make a feel-good addition to any animal lover’s home.
Calendars are just $20+ shipping, and all proceeds go towards helping us to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome thousands of animals every year.

As well as the cover spot and taking home the title of SPCA Pet of the Year, our top fundraisers have also won some incredible prizes from our friends at OPPO New Zealand, who have supported the campaign.
Congratulations to our winners and thank you to everyone who took part!
