SPCA’s new-look calendar competition: SPCA Pets of the Year
We’re doing things a little differently for our calendar competition this year. With no entry fee, and giving the power to the people, we’re excited to introduce our brand new fundraiser, SPCA Pets of the Year.
As of 6 July, SPCA’s annual calendar competition is open once again… but things look a little different this year!
Now completely free to enter, entries are available for the public to browse and accompanied by a pet bio! Every entrant has the opportunity to secure a spot in the 2023 SPCA Calendar by raising $150 but the more funds raised, the better the spot! And more importantly, every dollar raised goes towards helping the sick, injured and abused animals of New Zealand.
How it works
1. Sign up online by building a fundraising profile for your pet, uploading their image, and adding your contact details in the sign up form over at www.spca.nz/poty-comp
2. Start fundraising and collecting donations, earning your way up the incentives outlined below:
PET OF THE YEAR
Top fundraiser
Our top fundraisers will earn the cover of their 2023 SPCA Calendar, the hero image of a month of their choice, a free calendar, and a year’s supply of PURINA ONE Pet Food!
MONTHLY HEROES
Top 2-12 fundraisers
Our Monthly Heroes will earn themselves the hero image of a randomly selected month, a free calendar, and a custom Pet Portrait from Pickle's Pawtraits!
FAN FAVOURITES
Top 13-132 fundraisers
Our 120 Fan Favourite pets will feature as thumbnail images in a randomly selected month and receive a free copy of their category's calendar.
SPECIAL MENTIONS
Raise $150+
Pets who raise $150 or more and don't quite make it to our top 132 will receive a free calendar and feature in the Special Mention pages near the back of the calendar.
As in years gone by, there are three categories of SPCA’s 2023 Calendars: cats, dogs, and other animals. SPCA Pets of the Year is open for entry on Wednesday 6 July and closes on Sunday 21 August, 11:59pm, with winners announced the following week. The calendars will go on pre-sale not long thereafter.
We are so excited to see the beloved companion animals of New Zealand have their moment in the spotlight and which three pets will claim their rightful titles as SPCA Pet of the Year!
