General Terms and Conditions

This is a charity donation service. Your $3 donation will be added to your next phone bill or taken from your pay-as-you-go credit. Texts are not included in any text bundle agreement. Please note that you cannot donate using this service from outside of New Zealand.

100% of all donations go to The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals New Zealand (SPCA).

By making a $3 donation to SPCA through text, you are opting in to receive future communications from SPCA via phone or text. You agree that SPCA may contact you to thank you for your gift and share other ways you can support our animal friends. You can opt out at any time by calling SPCA on 0800 888 444, emailing fundraising@spca.nz, or reply STOP.

Text-to-donate campaigns

Purina’s $3 Donation Appeal - ‘NEED’

If donating towards Purina's $3 Donation Appeal running in October 2024, Purina will match every text donation received during October, up to $25,000. Any donations made outside of October 2024 will not be part of this campaign and will instead be received as a general donation to SPCA New Zealand.

SPCA's Community Pet Food Pantry - ‘PANTRY’

When people donate pet food through SPCA’s Community Pet Food Pantry in local supermarkets, it provides emergency assistance for pets whose animal owners are going through financially difficult times.

If donating $3 to SPCA using the keyword ‘PANTRY’ these donations will be received as a general donation to SPCA New Zealand.

Texted by mistake?

If you’ve texted to donate to SPCA New Zealand by mistake you will have received a text back from SPCA to confirm the donation. In this instance, you may be able to claim a refund by contacting your mobile network provider directly.

Permission to use the phone

If you are not the bill payer, you must obtain permission from the actual bill payer before texting to donate.

Communications from SPCA

SPCA New Zealand may occasionally contact you via SMS or phone with updates or other ways you can support our work. To opt out of future communication please contact us.

Disclaimer of liability

The Mobile Network Provider will not be liable in relation to any content of service provided to the Customer.

Your privacy is important to SPCA New Zealand, and we are committed to keeping your personal information secure. Your data will be handled in accordance with the laws of New Zealand.
