Volunteer positions
Feline volunteer
Ashburton Centre
We are looking for reliable people to help us care for our cats and kittens on weekdays and weekends.
We are looking for volunteers for our center and quarantine areas, for help with the feeding, cleaning and socialising of our many sweet felines. You will be required to help with the cleaning of the cat cages and rooms. The work we ask our feline volunteers to do requires a low to medium physical ability and bending to clean lower cages.
You will be involved in:
- Cleaning cages
- Feeding cats and kittens
- General cleaning of the cat area including laundry, mopping, litter trays and dishes
- Providing enrichment and socialisation for our cats
- Keeping the center tidy
As a volunteer, you are expected to be reliable and hardworking. We need volunteers that are 16 years and older, who are prepared to commit to the minimum requirement of six months, and can understand written and spoken English.
We currently have shifts available on weekdays and weekends, both for the morning and afternoon.
If you can help, please fill in the application form by clicking the link below.
If you have any questions, phone us on 022 015 4275 or email us at ashburton.info@spca.nz
