Over $55,000 raised for SPCA thanks to Purina’s matched giving incentive
In October, New Zealanders were given the chance to double their impact for the animals, thanks to Purina, who matched donations made to SPCA up to the value of $25,000*. Thank you to everyone who gave to help animals in need!
As of 1 November 2024, a total of $58,723 had been raised through Purina’s matched giving drive.
Throughout October, Purina ran a text-to-donate campaign via TVCs which encouraged animal lovers to make a simple $3 text donation, with the promise Purina would match the first $25,000* donated. New Zealanders were also given the option to donate an amount of their choice online.
The incentive aimed to collectively raise $50,000 for the animals, and by the end of the month the team at Purina was thrilled to see this target exceeded! The funds raised will go into SPCA’s work, recusing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals in need.
Purina has long been one of SPCA’s most avid sponsors, donating over 100,000kgs annually of their PURINA ONE pet food to feed the cats and dogs of SPCA. Now, they are taking their support even further and asking the New Zealand public to join them.
SPCA and Purina are so grateful to all the people who gave to this campaign, helping to improve animal lives. Thank you to everyone who gave generously!
SPCA CEO Todd Westwood says the incentive couldn’t have come at a better time.
“We are so grateful to Purina for yet another show of support, and one which encouraged New Zealanders to be part of the effort in such an easy way. Caring for the abandoned, abused and neglected animals in our communities has always been a team effort, and the outcome of their October matched giving drive is a demonstration of that.”
