Whangarei Centre
Making a difference in Whangarei
Volunteer with usThe SPCA inspectorate based in Whangarei covers an area from the Brynderwyns across to the Kaipara Harbour, up through Dargaville to just south of Kaikohe, to Waiomio south of Kawakawa, then back across to the east coast (to just north of Whangaruru North). Around 3,000 animals are brought to our centre annually, and each year we investigate around 900 animal abuse complaints.

Thank you for looking to desex your pet.
Making desexing accessible to everyone is important to us. Scientific research has proven that a desexed animal lives a happier and healthier life. They are less likely to get into fights, can be more affectionate and friendly, and have a reduced risk of health issues such as cancer. We believe desexing and microchipping is one of the key ways to improve animal welfare.
We run Snip ‘n’ Chip campaigns for cats across the country at different times of the year. To check if vouchers are available in your area visit https://book.spcadesexing.nz/
For more information on desexing, please visit www.spcadesexing.nz or email snipnchip@spca.nz
