Fundraise your way: Saint Andrew’s College
SPCA’s Fundraising Hub puts the power of fundraising into the hands of the people using it. This month, we hear from a group of staff at Christchurch’s St. Andrew’s College who recently got active for animals in need!
Regardless of where, when or how an individual or group may choose to raise money for the animals, SPCA’s Fundraising Hub is a one-stop-shop to make it happen!
Since its launch in January 2024, countless animal lovers around the country have used the platform to organise, promote and facilitate their fundraising efforts. Ways we have seen people use the Fundraising Hub are:
- Workplace fundraising
- Bake sales
- Celebrating milestones
- In memory giving
- Selling items
- Physical/outdoors challenges
We have loved seeing the creative, beautiful and inspiring ways New Zealanders have made fundraising their own through this platform. One group we recently saw take up the latter of these fundraising endeavours was a staff group from Christchurch’s St. Andrew’s College.
Late last year, the school ran a Community Service Day, reflecting the institution’s commitment to Partnership and Social Responsibility, one of their strategic priorities. Staff were encouraged to participate, and a number of amazing initiatives were embraced. A group of ten teachers, joined by their College Rector, completed a 10km charity walk – together with their furry, four-legged friends, of course!
“We wanted to raise money for SPCA – a cause close to our hearts,” teacher Kerry Larby told us. “Despite the heat, with plenty of water for our dogs, the day was a resounding success. We appreciated the opportunity to connect wit colleagues, enjoy the company of the dogs and contribute to such a meaningful cause.”
Through their efforts, the team managed to raise an incredible $1,361 for SPCA – what an amazing effort!
Why not make your next personal challenge, sales endeavour, or social gathering an opportunity for others to support animals in need? Fundraise your way with SPCA’s Fundraising Hub.
